Lists all the xrefs used in a drawing

The Reference Name, Status, Size, Type, Date, and Path fields display details about each xref

1. Attach: Attaches a DWG file as a reference

2. Refresh: Refreshes the referenced drawing files

3. Open: Opens the referenced drawing file

4. Unload: Temporarily hides the referenced file

5. Reload: Loads the unloaded referenced file and updates the changes of the original document in the current drawing

6. Detach: Removes the referenced drawing permanently

7. Bind: Permanently attaches the referenced drawing file to be a part of the current drawing

Select the file for reference and specify its location and path type

When unload an xref, it is not removed or detached but just unloaded from the memory

Alter Notification

If a reference drawing used in the current drawing changes, an alert bubble in the Status tray will pop-up

Bind Xrefs

Convert an xref to a local block definition in the host drawing

1. Bind: Converts an xref to a local block and renames all the named objects that are dependent on the xref
   
2. Insert: Converts an xref to a local block without renaming the dependent named objects
