Take a snapshot of the layer properties to be reused at a later time, or in another drawing
Layer states are presaved layer properties, such as on or off, frozen or thawed, locked or unlocked, color, linetype, lineweight, and plot or no plot status values
These presaved properties can be restored whenever required or export to other drawings
