DWF and DWFx Files

DWF

DWF (Design Web Format) is a read only file format enabling to share design data with people who do not have or need a CAD program

Anyone can download and install the DWF viewer program, or view the DWF file in common web browsers

DWF files can also be viewed and marked up using Autodesk Design Review

Benefit

• Include block and block attribute information with the DWF file
• Include hyperlinks to websites
• Include sheet set and sheet information
• Use the Sheet and Objects tab in the Properties panel of the Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer to view the extended information
• Configure a drawing file to automatically update the DWF file each time it is saved using Auto Publish
• Publish 3D design data to a DWF file

DWFx is a file format which is XPS compatible (XML Paper Specification)

XPS compatible files are a native file format in the Windows Vista operating system
